Seven Calatrava Public Art Sculptures Unveiled on New York’s Iconic Park Avenue

NEW YORK, NY (June 8, 2015) – Today Calatrava Architects & Engineers, in partnership with the Marlborough Gallery, The Fund for Park Avenue Sculpture Committee and NYC Parks, unveiled a new public sculpture exhibition by world-renowned artist, architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava. The exhibition will run from June 8, 2015 to mid-November 2015 and will feature seven new red, black, and silver painted aluminum sculptures installed along the central median on Park Avenue between 52nd and 55th Streets in New York City. These monumental works represent Santiago Calatrava’s continued exploration of expressive forms and structure abstracted from nature. In the artist’s own words, “their relation to the natural world suggests a link between man and nature, implying the sculptures are found objects in a human forest.”
